Police with the assistance of ACORN (Australian online cybercrime reporting network) have charged two men who allegedly pocketed more than… Police with the assistance of ACORN (Australian online cybercrime reporting network) have charged two men who allegedly pocketed more than $30,000 following an online scam in Shepparton last Friday.

It is alleged more than 300 victims were scammed on shopping sites and deposited money without ever receiving the purchased item.

Police work closely with ACORN who receive valuable information in identifying crimes and offenders.

Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit detectives charged two Mooroopna men aged 32 and 41 have with obtaining property by deception and other theft related offences.

The pair were bailed to appear at the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on 2 September.
