In major cities around the world like London, Singapore, Tokyo and Hong Kong they have lot's of "Police Boxes". Maybe Melbourne can adopt this with the placement of police boxes and kiosks in the CBD, shopping centres, and community centres to give a more permanent police presence, display public information like wanted posters and perhaps a phone providing direct link to 000.

At around 11.00pm on Saturday 4 April, 2009 a 15 year old teenager was walking along Dandenong Road, Dandenong when she was offered a lift by two men.
The two men drove the young woman to a factory in the Hallam area where they allegedly raped her.
