Out of sight, out of (criminal) mind

The Mornington Penisula STOP team patrolled beach car parks over the weekend, to pamphlet-drop vehicles and remind car owners to keep valuables out of sight.

There, they spoke to Phil Trigger from the Trigger Bros shop at Point Leo, who showed them a new Key Safe Lock they are promoting to surfers, as a means of safely storing their car keys while out catching waves.  

The STOP team also conducted several foot patrols of retail shops in the Mornington Peninsula Police Service Area, showing a friendly police presence and speaking to business owners and members of the public about any issues or concerns they may have. During their patrols, the STOP team recovered a lost wallet at the Woolworths shopping centre and promptly located the owner ) - who was very grateful for its return.
