Operation Inspect -- Firearms Check
To reduce the chance of firearms ending up in the wrong hands, all licence holders are subject to regular compliance checks. As part of Operation Inspect, police recently performed 248 firearms checks across Melbourne’s West.

There are around 1,400 people on the Australian organ transplant waiting list at one time. In 2014, Sergeant Jason Wallace was one of these people. He was lucky enough to receive part of a liver which saved his life. That same year, another Victoria Police Sergeant, John Lowe, was experiencing the other side of organ donation after his wife tragically passed following a brain aneurism. Her donation saved the lives of six people. Watch their story.
