Motorcyclist dies in Mount Pleasant

Emergency services are currently on the scene of a fatal motorbike crash in Mount Pleasant.

It is understood the bike had been travelling east along Elsworth Street West on the wrong side of the road when it collided head-on with another vehicle about 4.10pm.

Despite paramedics’ best efforts, the male rider, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.

The male driver of the car was not injured and stopped to assist.

Road closures are currently in place in both directions of Elsworth Street West.

Police are yet to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.
