Police investigate fatal pedestrian collision at Fulham

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man at Fulham earlier this evening.

The incident occurred on the Princes Highway, approximately 15ks west of Sale, just before 5.30pm.

Police believe the driver of a west-bound car pulled up on the side of the Princes Highway to assist another driver who had driven off the side of the roadway in a road-work zone.

As the two occupants of the car, the driver and his passenger were attempting to cross the Princes Highway one of the men, the passenger was struck by an east-bound car.

The 33-year-old Dandenong man died at the scene.

The occupant of the car the men were intending to help was not injured.
